Liberty House Establishes a New Testing Facility

A new materials testing facility accredited by UKAS has just been launched by Liberty House, the UK’s fastest growing metals and industrials business, at Willenhall in the West Midlands. Engineering firms can benefit from the range of expertise at the new laboratory, which draws upon decades of technical experience from within Liberty’s own network of manufacturing and engineering enterprises.

Customers can benefit from services including chemical, hardness, impact, and tensile testing in sectors such as aerospace, automotive, construction, engineering, marine, metals manufacturing, oil and gas, and yellow goods. Liberty Testing Technologies also provides collections and next day certification in order to fast track quality assurance processes.

Our business has a significant and growing product and service offering to customers that manufacture safety and performance-critical products. It’s natural therefore that we should use our knowledge and experience to expand the scope of what we provide to the market, said Douglas Dawson, Chief Executive Officer at Liberty Industries Group.

The new facility, which provides mechanical, spectrographic and chemical testing and analysis, will specialise in fast turnaround services for businesses such as engineering and fabrication operations. Liberty is planning to expand the services available with the addition of a specialist metallurgical testing lab by next year.

We have a significant amount of testing expertise which we already use to support our own metals and engineering companies in the Liberty group, so we are now making this high-calibre service available more widely across industry, further added Douglas.

Liberty has been one of the UK’s fastest growing metals and industrial businesses over the past two years and is currently employing over 5,500 people at approximately 30 sites across the country.
