A number of real; world applications for the Internet of Things are being developed in the UK. Through the use of projects such as the oneTRANSPORT which is being operated by InterDigital is making the UK a leader in the development of these applications. As a part of this, oneM2M, which is a global standards initiative that has been set up in order to explore Machine-to-Machine technology as well as IoT. The initiative will be up for discussion as part of the Internet of Things World Europe which will take place this week. At this event a panel made up of experts in the industry will come together to explore a range of topics associated with IoT.

The event will be taking place today, the 14th of June, with the Creating a Sustainable Framework for IoT taking place from 3:50. The Internet of Things World Europe will look into the different approaches  that could possibly be used in order to speed up the adoption of IoT. Accelerating the uptake of the of IoT in smarter cities will mean that in the future it will be a lot easier than it is already to share information. This could mean that planning and carrying out services in the city can become more fluid for the consumer. As part of the panel at the event, the oneM2M representative and VP and Managing Director of InterDigital Europe, Alan Carter will be attending with a number of other representatives from Huawei, Kudelski Security and FIWARE.

The pane at the IoT conference will be looking into how the UK and oneM2M have been playing a vital role in the creation and development of the oneTRANSPORT project. The project was initially conceived because of the challenges created by siloed data. This means that different operators in a smart city ecosystem found that they were unable to share information that would let them work more effectively.
