Strategic Alliance to Stabilise the European Chip Supply

Lead Power Semiconductor

RESTAR FRAMOS Technologies, a leading European distributor specialising in supply chain and component logistics, announced a new strategic partnership with Taiwanese semiconductor manufacturer Lead Power Semiconductor. The goal of this collaboration is to support the European market –particularly the automotive and industrial sectors, with reliable and efficient MOSFET solutions.

The partnership comes at a time when the automotive industry is facing severe supply disruptions caused by significant delivery issues at Nexperia. These shortages are currently affecting both automotive suppliers and OEMs. Several OEMs have already communicated internally that, starting in November, group-wide production disruptions across all brands are expected. At the same time, they have emphasized that the root cause does not lie within their own supply chain management but is instead attributable to external issues at a single semiconductor supplier. Although Nexperia’s challenges appear to have been resolved temporarily, the reputational damage is considerable. Nearly all OEMs and their electronics manufacturing service providers (EMS) have launched task forces to identify alternative suppliers.

In this tense market environment, Lead Power Semiconductor offers immediately available, largely pin- and function-compatible alternatives to Nexperia products – particularly in the critical category of MOSFET components used in the automotive sector. The company provides more than 250 MOSFET types featuring low RDS(on) values, fast switching speeds, high thermal stability, and many devices qualified to AEC-Q101 standards. Rigorous manufacturing processes ensure consistent and long-term supply reliability.

Under the new agreement, RESTAR FRAMOS Technologies will assume exclusive distribution rights of Lead Power Semiconductor’s MOSFET product line in Europe.

With this partnership, RESTAR FRAMOS Technologies and Lead Power Semiconductor are making a significant contribution to stabilizing European semiconductor supply chains. OEMs and system developers will benefit from a robust and technically advanced, short-term alternative that helps mitigate the impact of current market conditions and strengthen the resilience of their production and development processes.
