Efficiency for Production and Logistics through Smart Solutions

Logimat 2025

With AMY, the compact AMR for loads up to 25 kg, and the fleet manager NAVIOS, DS Automotion is presenting pioneering concepts and solutions for production and logistics of all company sizes at LogiMAT 2025 in Stuttgart. Trade fair visitors have the opportunity to experience the new concepts for small load transport with AMY in action on site, as well as to try out the fleet management system NAVIOS interactively.

They are in use around the clock, know neither hunger nor tiredness. They carry out precise delivery activities in the production process, relieve the burden on human colleagues and ensure precise processes. They can be found in all production areas from small to large, from simple structured to fully automated operations. We are talking about the latest, flexible logistics solutions for the transport of loads up to 25 kg with AMY – our Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR). These can be integrated quickly and easily into existing structures at affordable conditions.

At LogiMAT 2025 from March 11th to 13th in Stuttgart, you can personally take a closer look at these solutions with our AMR AMY in live operation. Trade fair visitors can also gain detailed insights into our fleet management NAVIOS. Interested parties can try out for themselves how intuitive and user-friendly its cockpit is to operate and how flexibly configurable the layout is by means of test programming at the trade fair.

Efficiency booster for small parts handling

AMY was specially designed for use in industrial production and intralogistics processes and impresses with its very simple operation and high flexibility. Thanks to a unique transfer concept with an active lifting table, sources and sinks can be designed as passive stations. This makes cost-effective implementation and scaling even in existing systems easier than ever before. The smart control software developed in-house by DS Automotion enables rapid start of operations – individually or in a swarm. The AMR can either operate completely autonomously or follow virtual lane guidance and, if the operator wishes, also avoid unexpected obstacles. In addition, like all current vehicles from DS Automotion, AMY is equipped with a VDA-5050 interface and can process files with the Layout Interchange Format (LIF). Under the NAVIOS fleet manager from DS Automotion, AMY can also be operated in mixed operation with the other vehicles of the leading manufacturer of mobile robotics for internal logistics and assembly applications. This makes AMY particularly suitable as a cost-effective addition to existing systems.

Above all, thanks to the three different load handling devices (LAM), which can be implemented at the customer’s site – even in existing infrastructures – depending on the complexity, AMY proves to be a versatile AMR for numerous areas of application. The first variant is a passive LAM that works with the support of gravity. This was developed together with the Fraunhofer Institute. The advantage of this variant is that the LAM requires neither sensors nor drives. This makes it particularly simple to set up and cost-effective. It works together with the appropriate transfer station, which also does not require sensors or drives. This makes it ideal for applications in which the material is provided independently of the vehicle. The second LAM variant can also be used to operate gravity roller conveyors and belt conveyors. This enables easy connection to the conveyor technology. There are also passive transfer stations for this system. The third option is a platform for manual loading and unloading. For this purpose, the vehicle is called to so-called stations, where the user manually places the load and then sends AMY on again.

For all three variants, a suitable web interface is available for operating the mobile robots: from generating the transport order to calling and acknowledging the vehicle.

NAVIOS – the holistic fleet manager

The key to optimizing and automating processes in production and logistics lies in an efficient fleet manager. NAVIOS from DS Automotion offers companies the opportunity to efficiently control their vehicle fleet – whether AGVs or AMRs. Thanks to an intuitive user interface and flexible layout configuration, users can adapt their operating processes individually and effortlessly. Thanks to VDA 5050 compatibility, seamless communication between all mobile robots is also possible. The layout design of the driving course is visualized using a navigation map. The integrated course planning tool ensures maximum efficiency. This means that users can change the layout during runtime, and the vehicles are automatically transferred the updated conditions. Users have access to extensive, meaningful analysis functions for mobile robots as well as for material handling. Visitors to LogiMAT can test for themselves how easy it all works. From central configuration to clear warehouse and parking space management: NAVIOS scores points for its stability, user-friendliness and easy integration into existing systems.
