Cubitts Eyewear Manufacturer Signs Contract with Walker Logistics

Cubitts Eyewear Manufacturer Signs Contract with Walker Logistics

Cubitts, the spectacle and sunglasses manufacturing company and retailer has revealed that they have outsourced a part of their UK supply chain to Walker Logistics. The London based eyewear company was first founded in 2012 and works to offer their customers a range of stylish frames. The company creates amazing designs for men and women, available in a number of retail outlets across the most fashionable locations in London as well as online on Cubitts’ website. The demand for the British manufacturing company’s products has increased at a significant rate, and because of this it was decided that the business would benefit from a dedicated storage resource and extra supply chain expertise. After a competitive tender for the contract, Walker Logistics was appointed. The Berkshire based company will be handling two sections of the supply chain to begin with. Walker Logistics will first receive the inbound products from the Far East which will then be used to replenish the stock of cases and accessories in Cubitts’ London shops in component form or as complete kits processed through Walker’s specialist re-work division. Walker was awarded the contract because of their expertise in value-added and returns management. It is expected that, going forward, Walker will be used by Cubitts to support the innovative ‘Home Try On’ service that is offered by the eyewear manufacturer to its customers. This service allows online customers to trial four frames at home for a week. The frames that are chosen by the customer are packed in a kit that is specially designed and sent to the customer’s address. Following this, the customer will hopefully make an order for their preferred frame, while returning all four of the test frames back to Cubitts. In order to successfully offer an efficient Home Try On service requires logistics partner that has a strong reputation and experience with managing value added services and returns. Therefore, Walker Logistics are well suited to this new contract and will offer an excellent quality service for Cubitt’s customers. Musto Revealed That They Have Appointed Walker Logistics in Order to Manage their Orders

Musto Revealed That They Have Appointed Walker Logistics in Order to Manage their Orders

Musto has revealed that they have appointed Walker Logistics in order to manage their orders. The leading sailing and country sports clothing brand has made the change to Walker Logistics as a part of a wide ranging change to how the company supply chain operates. As part of the new selection, Walker Logistics will be fulfilling orders for Musto’s diverse range of shoes and luggage that has been ordered by trade customers. In the past Musto has carried out all of their logistics process from two in-house facilities that were located in Essex. However, the company has now decided that it would be a better business move to outsource this part of the supply chain operation to a third party. This could make the sorts clothing producer more efficient.   Also as part of the outsourcing and the wider changes that are being made to the company’s supply chain has allowed the business to consolidate their stock holding so that it can all be found in one unit. This means that the business can sub-let the other unit that was previously used as a storage facility. This sub-letting will make the process more cost effective right away. As part of the contract that has been agreed between Walker Logistics and Musto it has been decided that Walker will be operating as an extension of the customs warehouse that has been set up by Musto. Walker will be working from the company’s warehouse and multi-user site which is situated close to Reading. At this site the orders will be picked and packed before being dispatched for shipment across the UK and the EU.Hopefully his new partnership between Musto and Walker Logistics will be successful. Walker has expressed its happiness to be working with the technical outdoor clothing brand and hopes that they will be able to assist with improving and expanding the business.
