Boughton Commences Production of 57 New Vehicles for Biffa

Boughton is excited to announce that it has commenced manufacturing its latest order for Biffa

Boughton Engineering (Boughton), Britain’s longest-established designer and manufacturer of hook loaders, skip loaders, and close-coupled trailers, is excited to announce that it has commenced manufacturing its latest order for Biffa, one of the UK’s leading waste management companies. The order, which consists of 30 skip loaders, 18 hook loaders, and 9 trailers, is set to further enhance Biffa’s operational capabilities across its depots nationwide and will be delivered over the coming months.

This collaboration between Boughton and Biffa is built on a longstanding relationship that spans decades, fostering mutual growth and innovation. The integration of the new vehicles will further support Biffa’s mission to reduce waste, enhance recycling efforts, and transform waste into valuable resources, helping the company to sustainably manage the 15,000 tonnes of waste it collects every day.

Biffa’s Head of Fleet Development, Darren Judd, said: “It was great to recently visit Boughton’s fabrication facility in Devon and witness firsthand the exceptional craftsmanship that defines their manufacturing excellence. Boughton’s vehicles are renowned for their quality and reliability, which are crucial in helping us deliver the high standards of service our customers expect. We are pleased to be continuing this strong relationship.”

As the only British manufacturer of hook loaders and the only UK-based producer of skip loaders at scale, Boughton stands out for its dedication to domestically made, high-quality products. The iconic Boughton hook loader, first introduced in 1973, remains a favourite in the industry due to its durability and ease of operation, while its flagship Power-Reach PR18 skip loader is revered as the industry standard. In addition, Boughton’s close-coupled trailers, offered in 20 and 22-foot lengths, are optimised for seamless use with their hook loaders.
