Lindemann Metal Recycling Secures Major Order

Lindemann Metal Recycling

The supply of a Lindemann 4,000 horsepower Power Zerdirator ZZ 225×260 and infeed section will form the heart of advanced shredding, dedusting, and downstream facilities for Galloo’s latest greenfield development, in Harnes, northern France.

The signing of a major order to provide shredding equipment to Belgium-headquartered Galloo Group’s all-new metal recycling plant underlines Lindemann’s position as a premier global provider of innovative metal recycling solutions. The project, a greenfield site in Harnes, France, has a total investment exceeding €30 million, and is slated to set new benchmarks in environmental standards.

As part of its contract, Lindemann Metal Recycling will deliver a comprehensive suite of equipment, including the infeed line, a feed optimizer, the high-capacity Power Zerdirator ZZ 225×260 Shredder, and a sophisticated plant control system, which also incorporates the company’s innovative Shredder Drive Assistant (SDA). Planned for delivery and installation in the second half of 2025, the plant is expected to process up to 160 tons of infeed material an hour by mid-2026.

The major players’ choice

“This contact win exemplifies Lindemann’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge technology and sustainable solutions to the major players in the global industry, many of whom are, like Galloo Group, long term partners,” said Ioannis Giouvanitskas, Senior Executive Advisor at Lindemann. “The collaboration with The Galloo Group underscores our shared dedication to environmental stewardship and operational excellence.”

The selection of Lindemann for this project underscores its unrivalled sector expertise and reputation for delivering premium-quality equipment, tailored to the specific needs of the metal recycling industry. The integration of energy-efficient solutions and the performance increasing Shredder Drive Assistant (SDA) further reinforces Lindemann’s commitment to sustainability and operational efficiency.

“With several Lindemann shredding systems and equipment already operational in our network of metal recycling facilities, we are confident in partnering with Lindemann on this, our latest and most ambitious and sustainable project,” said Rik Debaere, CEO at Galloo. “Their state-of-the-art technology, coupled with their unparalleled industry knowledge, positions them as the ideal partner for our greenfield development in Harnes.”

Sharing a strong emphasis on quality, efficiency, and environmental compliance, Lindemann Metal Recycling, joins forces again with the Belgian company Lybover who will design and build the entire dedusting and downstream installation after the Shredder.

“By combining our expertise, we will deliver a world-class metal recycling facility to Galloo – one that meets and exceeds the highest industry standards for a future-proof installation in Harnes,” Lybover CEO Hans Boels concludes.
