The Electrolux Group Have Displayed a Continuous Progress Within Key Areas Of Sustainability

The sustainability report has been released for The Electrolux Group. The results of this report has displayed the continuous progress within key areas of sustainability for 2016. Some of the points covered in the report include an increased use of recycled plastics as well as a reduction in carbon emissions created during their operations. The Electrolux also displayed their investment in being a force for good in local communities in their sustainability report.

The President and CEO of Electrolux, Jonas Samuelson has stated that it is the intention to use their attempts to improve the sustainability of their business as one of the three key motivators for change in order to create a company that is best-in-class for their consumer experiences.

Electrolux intend on helping customers when reducing their food waste, as well as cooking healthier meals and maintain their garments for longer. This campaign is an industry wide collaboration that will be promoting the proper washing and care for clothes to make them last longer and save consumers some money. The campaign was presented by Electrolux on the 21st of March.

The sustainability plans set out by The Electrolux Group is called ‘For the Better’. The structures within this framework to promote sustainability focuses on improvement in three areas: Better Solutions, Better Operations, and Better Society. These key areas include a 20% increase in their use of recycled plastics, with targets to increase this use. Electrolux also revealed the reduction of their carbon footprint throughout the company operations by 50% since 2005. The company intend on reducing their CO2 emissions by 50% in the time period between 2005 and 2020. In order to contribute to society, Electrolux launched a Food Foundation in 2016 will a SEK 10 million investment to start off with. The aim is to help in dealing with more global issues such as hunger, poor nutrition and food waste as well as responsible consumption.
