The Home Upgrade Show helps homeowners create energy efficient, healthy and greener homes

The Home Upgrade Show helps homeowners create energy efficient, healthy and greener homes : Residents of older properties seeking to create energy efficient, healthy and greener homes can find solutions and good advice at The Home Upgrade Show, part of Greater Manchester’s inaugural Retrofit Action Week, at the Victoria Baths, Manchester on 13th-14th October.

Homeowners will learn what is possible for their home, get personal advice and build the confidence to make decisions from over 50 manufacturers, suppliers, installers and experts whose services and products are designed to help them make their homes warmer, cheaper to run and kinder to the planet. Experts will be on hand to advise on energy efficiency measures such as insulation, quality double-glazing and basic draught-proofing.

Upgrading homes with energy efficiency measures is a new trend which is gathering momentum as people wake up to the harsh reality of expensive energy. So people living across Greater Manchester and beyond will benefit from meeting the many experts gathered in one place, all with a focus on making older homes energy efficient safely and effectively.

Tickets are free for those who book in advance, providing an unmissable local opportunity to get free, personal advice about your home and what you can do to reduce heat loss.

A whole area of the Show is devoted to cleaner, greener heating – with the Heat Pump Federation leading on workshops and a Heat Pump Clinic offering advice on how to clean up your heating system to get it off fossil fuels or make it cheaper to run.

Home energy giant British Gas joins Low Carbon Homes to support Retrofit Action Week (RAW), which will kick off with a Green Open Homes event on Saturday 7th October organised by People Powered Retrofit which enables people to visit retrofitted properties around Manchester and chat to owners about living in an energy efficient home.

While energy prices have started to fall since the peak in 2022, they are still three times higher than they were in 2020 and unlikely to return to those levels in the near future. And wildfires and freak storms indicate that the climate crisis has not gone away either. Investing in ways to protect your household budget and your home from future shocks is a smart move.

“We’ve assembled a unique gathering of experts, local and national businesses and community organisations all eager to support homeowners on their path towards greener, healthier and better homes. It will be an enjoyable, inspirational and sociable event for all attendees – and set in the easy-to-reach historic Victoria Baths venue,” concludes event organiser Graham Lock, founder of Low Carbon Homes.
