Offshore Stainless Supplies are now CBAM Compliant

CBAM

Offshore Stainless Supplies, the UK manufacturer and stockholder of cold drawn bars and 1.4003 (3CR12) Stainless Steel sheet, have taken significant steps to ensure compliance with the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) for sustainable and responsible exports to Europe.

CBAM is a policy instrument implemented by the European Union to address climate change. It aims to put a fair price on carbon emissions associated with the production of certain goods imported into the EU to ensure that the carbon price of imports is equivalent to the carbon price of domestic production, supporting the EU’s climate objectives.

Offshore Stainless Supplies recognise the importance of reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainable manufacturing practices. They are committed to creating high-quality products while minimising environmental impact through innovative practices and advanced technologies. Furthermore, the company’s commitment to meeting the EU’s regulatory standards for carbon emissions underscores their dedication to a Carbon Neutral journey.

Offshore Stainless Supplies recently partnered with Positive Planet, a company specialising in helping businesses simplify their pathways to NetZero. Together, they gathered data to accurately establish their carbon footprint, and by analysing and monitoring this data, the company has been implementing initiatives to reduce energy consumption and operate efficiently.

Additionally, Offshore Stainless Supplies have developed a comprehensive roadmap of initiatives to offset the energy required to run the business, with the ambitious goal of becoming a Carbon NetZero business before 2050.

With Offshore Stainless Supplies’ extensive inventory of stainless steel, duplex and nickel alloy grades, they already supply their products to more than 50 countries worldwide. And with their new CBAM compliance, the company is playing its part to decarbonise supply chains and promote a fair and sustainable global economy.
