Cummins Ranks in Financial Times Diversity Leaders List for Third Consecutive Year

Financial Times

Global power solutions company, Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI), has ranked in the Financial Times Diversity Leaders list for the third consecutive year. The annual list surveys employees and workplace experts to identify the companies across Europe that are leading the way when it comes to diversity.

“We are extremely proud to have placed in the Financial Times Diversity Leaders listing for the third consecutive year,” said Antonio Leitao, Vice President of Cummins Europe. “It is crucial to foster an inclusive and diverse workplace. Diverse perspectives help to drive innovation, a key component of the manufacturing industry and makes companies like ours more competitive and successful globally. We are proud of this recognition and we understand that it’s critical that we remain a positive force for society and to ensure that our company continues to help people break down barriers. We will continue to invest in, and enhance diversity, at Cummins through an ambitious programme of data-led training and initiatives.”

Improving the diversity and inclusion of its workforce across all 59 countries has been a key priority for Cummins, and one that’s been driven through multiple initiatives.

For example, through strategic partnerships and financial investments, Cummins’ ‘Global Disability Inclusion Strategy’ works to reduce employment barriers and enhances its workplace technology for people with disabilities.

Cummins also provides LGBTQ+ Safe Leader Training for employees to help educate staff on all topics related to the LGBTQ+ community and to reduce conscious and unconscious biases towards this group in the workplace.

The business has also partnered with global non-profit organisations as part of its ‘Cummins Powers Women’ scheme, which focuses on enhancing gender equality in wider society by improving women’s access to education, skills development, childcare and healthcare.

Cummins encourages employees to join and engage with Employee Resource Groups which are voluntary, employee-led groups, focused on fostering a diverse, inclusive workplace. In Europe, Cummins has over 20 active groups supporting five dimensions of diversity: gender, multicultural, disability inclusion, military status and sexual orientation / gender identity.

“By harnessing the diverse perspectives of our employees, we innovate superior solutions for our customers and communities and realise results in top and bottom-line growth,” said Carolyn Butler-Lee, Vice President – Global Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Culture at Cummins. “It is how we win with the power of difference and we appreciate this recognition of our unwavering commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.”
