HydraForce Hydraulics, an award winning Birmingham manufacturer, is expecting its turnover to be around £110 million by the end of its current financial year. The winner of an Insider Made in the Midlands award has reported a turnover of £78.7 million for the year to 31 December 2017, a rose from £58.7 million in 2016.
The wholly-owned subsidiary of the US registered Hydraforce Inc, revealed the projection when the US ambassador Robert Wood Johnson visited the company at Birmingham’s Advanced Manufacturing Hub. Johnson made the trip to Birmingham to speak at the 2018 Transatlantic Conference of the British-American Business Council, an annual event which encourages investment on both sides of the Atlantic.
The visit to HydraForce’s European headquarters was the perfect opportunity for the ambassador to speak with the company’s management and meet other employees, including apprentices and undergraduates.
“We were able to brief the ambassador on the company’s strong growth over the last three years,” said Tony Brown, managing director at HydraForce Hydraulics. “As a global business, we work closely with HydraForce Hydraulics Inc to support our customers across the world.”
The UK site in Birmingham has recently began exporting product to sister companies in Brazil and China, as well as to its Asian distributors.
Since its founding in 1985, HydraForce continues to be a privately held company as it has grown to several manufacturing locations in North America, Europe and Asia, with a network of 120 stocking distributors who can offer local support across the globe.
HydraForce offers one of the most comprehensive lines of high quality hydraulic cartridge valves for the mobile and industrial equipment markets. It designs and manufactures high performance valves that meet virtually any need encountered in machine design for flow rates of 0.4 to 530 lpm (0.1 to 140 gpm). Moreover, all HydraForce products carry a five-year limited warranty against defects in material and workmanship.
