Alistair Urquhart Appointed as Group Managing Director

AGSS is delighted to confirm the appointment of Alistair Urquhart as the Group Managing Director. With over 25 years of experience as an Operations and Commercial Director, Alistair has been responsible for leading teams and major projects across hospitality and technology.

Moving forward from his role as General Manager, Alistair will be responsible for continuing to drive revenue growth within the group and oversee the scaling of AGSS’s operations in the UK, US and globally.

Tom Rootes Steps into the Role of Group Strategic Programmes Director

Further strengthening the leadership team, AGSS is pleased to announce Tom Rootes as the new Group Strategic Programmes Director. Having previously served as AGSS’ Director of Innovation, Tom brings a wealth of innovation and programme delivery experience to this new role for the group. Tom originally joined AGSS upon its acquisition of Rethorn, where Tom led as Operations Manager.

His primary responsibilities will include overseeing the integration and expansion of operations in the United States, alongside spearheading the migration and future-proofing of AGSS’s platforms including Singlepoint, Redthorn and Waypoint.

Tom Rootes added, “I am thrilled to be leading AGSS’s strategic programs. The opportunities ahead are immense, and I look forward to leveraging my experience to further strengthen our market position and deliver on key initiatives such as our Innovate UK-backed Carbon Calculator project.”

These appointments mark a pivotal moment in AGSS’s trajectory as the company gears up for a period of accelerated growth and innovation over the next 5 years.
