Complex molecules, rising quality requirements and reliable supply chains are changing the demands on the specialty chemicals industry. At the Chemspec Europe 2026 trade fair, Saltigo will demonstrate how complex chemical syntheses can be combined with industrially scalable production processes through its broad technology portfolio for custom manufacturing.
Saltigo, a subsidiary of the specialty chemicals company LANXESS, develops and produces tailor-made chemical solutions for the agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals and specialty chemicals sectors. The portfolio also includes selected fine chemicals and active ingredient building blocks, such as triazoles, phosphazene and carbonyldiimidazole (CDI), as well as the active ingredient Saltidin, which is used worldwide in insect repellents.
Broad technology portfolio for complex syntheses
Saltigo supports customer projects from early-stage process development to commercial production on a multi-ton scale. This is underpinned by a broad technology portfolio that includes high-pressure hydrogenation, phosgenation, fluorination, metathesis and flow chemistry.
Saltigo combines various reactor concepts, process engineering expertise, and industrial infrastructure. This enables the company to develop tailor-made production routes for complex molecules and sophisticated intermediates. Applications range from active ingredients and intermediates for crop protection products, to specialty chemicals and materials for electronics and battery systems.
Demand for bespoke syntheses is also rising in areas such as catalyst systems, functional additives and consumer care applications. For example, Saltigo manufactures high-purity intermediates for fragrance and cosmetic ingredients, as well as special additives to improve the material properties of modern polymers.
Wide range of preservatives and flavor chemicals
With its Flavors & Fragrances portfolio, LANXESS will also be presenting preservatives, flavor chemicals and intermediates at the Saltigo booth. These are used in personal care and cosmetics, household care and cleaning, as well as in the pharmaceutical industry and agriculture. They offer product protection, extended shelf life and attractive sensory properties.
Panel discussion on sustainable growth in a complex market environment
Saltigo is also participating in the industry’s strategic dialogue at Chemspec Europe. Dr. Christoph Schaffrath, Head of Marketing & Sales at Saltigo, will take part in a panel discussion entitled “Scaling, adapting and partnering for the future”.
The discussion will take place on 6 May 2026 from 10:45 to 11:30 a.m. in hall 7 on the Strategy Stage. There, industry experts will discuss how companies can achieve sustainable growth in a complex global environment. The discussion will also focus on the importance of collaboration and on unlocking new opportunities.
“Close collaboration with our customers is a key success factor in custom manufacturing,” says Schaffrath. “Together, we develop scalable production solutions that are technologically robust and economically efficient.”
