From 4-5th June, Chemspec Europe will turn Cologne into the global innovation hub for the chemical world. Now in its 38th edition, the two-day event has become a key destination for sourcing fine and speciality chemicals, custom solutions, and contract services. On 8,000sqm of expanded exhibition space, visitors can explore the full spectrum of chemical innovation and  expertise, presented by around 350 key suppliers from Europe and beyond. This year, the event  has further refined its content structure to better align with market needs, introducing clearer  exhibitor segmentation, enhanced networking opportunities, and fresh conference insights.

With visitor registration already in full swing, the international fine and speciality chemicals industry is preparing for its premier sourcing and networking event coming to Cologne this June.  Chemspec Europe is renowned for bringing a wealth of knowledge and industry connections under  one roof, giving professionals direct access to vital insights and updates for a competitive edge in a  fast-moving sector. The upcoming 2025 edition will feature an A-list lineup of chemical suppliers and  service providers, including Albemarle, Arxada, CABB, Curia, ESIM Chemicals, Evonik, IMCD,  Johnson Matthey, Lanxess, Midas Pharma, Miltitz Aromatics, PI Industries, Saltigo, SEQENS, SRF,  WeylChem, to name but a few. Across two large exhibition halls, visitors can explore a wide range of  fine and speciality chemicals, additives, and ingredients, along with lab equipment, processing technology, and specialised contract services. Exhibits cover the full breadth of industries and  applications, including pharmaceuticals, agriculture, paints and coatings, personal care and  cosmetics, construction, food and feed, water treatment, electronics, batteries, and many more.

Creating opportunities in a progress-driven landscape

Finding the right supplier for complex chemical products is no easy task, given the industry’s  specialised yet diverse nature. “Whether you work in chemical production, R&D, procurement,  distribution, or consulting – keeping up-to-date with evolving technologies, environmental  considerations, and regulatory requirements is vital for navigating ever-changing markets and  customer expectations”, says Christiane Beck, Event Director for Chemspec Europe at RX.  “Chemspec Europe offers a dynamic gateway to the latest innovations, research findings, and  regulatory updates in the chemical sector. Above all, it fosters global collaboration – offering a space  to connect with peers and experts, and to secure the right business partners to see your projects  through.”

Strengthened segmentation to match industry objectives

This year, Chemspec Europe has significantly revamped its content structure and exhibitor  segmentation to enhance the show experience and achieve maximum relevance to attendees. Exhibitor profiles have been aligned with current industry needs and clearly categorised by sector,  product group, key properties, substance class, and company type. With a one-click filter, visitors  can quickly identify relevant products for their specific application, helping them connect with the  right suppliers.

Refined conference programme: A sharper focus on industry needs

A longstanding highlight for industry professionals, the Chemspec Europe Conference Programme  has been upgraded with a clear structure and expanded content, providing a more focused and  business-relevant experience. Last year’s event delivered over 50 expert-led sessions on critical  industry developments, R&D projects, and regulatory updates. Returning this year: the Agrochemical Stage, covering agricultural policy and chemical solutions for modern, sustainable  agriculture; the Pharmaceutical Stage, highlighting advancements in personalised medicine, drug  formulation, and pharmaceutical innovations; and the Regulations Stage, focusing on REACH and  REACH-like regulations, global chemicals management, and best practices for product stewardship. In addition, the new Insights Stage will address pressing industry challenges, providing practical  solutions and strategic guidance to help businesses navigate evolving market demands. Full details  on speakers and topics will be announced on the official show website.

Tapping into fresh ideas: The New Exhibitor Zone

Chemspec Europe has a strong tradition of driving industry progress by showcasing emerging talent  and innovation. The New Exhibitor Zone highlights first-time participants from Europe, the USA and  Japan – including promising start-ups and young companies – bringing fresh perspectives and  pioneering solutions to the show floor. Strategically positioned in a high-traffic area, this dedicated  space offers visitors exclusive access to new suppliers, breakthrough technologies, and clever  innovations – broadening sourcing opportunities and fostering new industry connections.

Building bridges with next-gen matchmaking

A key strength of Chemspec Europe is its emphasis on personal meetings – 75% of last year’s visitors  successfully arranged business meetings at the show. This is supported by a powerful Matchmaking  Programme, designed to connect visitors and suppliers with complementary business interests. The

Matchmaking Lounge on-site allows Visitor PLUS ticket holders to meet key contacts and clients – including fellow visitors – in a comfortable and professional setting. A new feature is the  Colleqt QR App, which facilitates the paperless exchange of key information and contact details – even when stands are too busy for personal meetings. Visitors can digitally collect and store  company details and brochures by simply scanning the Colleqt QR code at each stand, making  follow-up and sharing with colleagues seamless.
