‘ALL-IN-ONE’ INLINE FLOW SENSOR SOLUTION ENERGY SAVINGS

‘ALL-IN-ONE’ INLINE FLOW SENSOR SOLUTION ENERGY SAVINGS
  • M/80 Inline Flow Sensor for accurate monitoring of industrial compressed air & nitrogen systems
  • Oversight of four process values from a single device
  • IO-Link enabled for real time performance data insights

At a time when optimising energy consumption is a top priority for industrial users, IMI has launched the new IMI Norgren M/80 Inline Flow Sensor for industrial compressed air and nitrogen systems.

Precise monitoring for energy efficiency benefit

The IMI Norgren M/80 Inline Flow Sensor accurately measures four process values: flow rate, pressure, temperature, and total consumption, helping OEMs and maintenance managers to precisely identify hidden issues such as small leaks and abnormally high flow rates as well as system-wide problems – all of which can result in wasted energy consumption and higher energy costs.

The solution also helps support compliance with ISO 50001 energy efficiency standard. Playing an important role in data collection as part of a wider energy management strategy.

Unlike existing solutions currently on the market, the M/80 sensor technology uses two probes inserted into the air flow which measure flow rate without causing any significant impact to system pressure. It offers best-in-class and consistent response times for both increasing and decreasing flow measurement.

User friendly informative display

User information is visible via the M/80’s clear digital display with push button programming for easy-to-read application data. To deliver a complete system overview, the four process values are helpfully displayed simultaneously, and coloured digits allow for identification of acceptable ranges for flow rate, pressure, temperature, and total energy consumption. In addition, individually adjustable graphic layouts support immediate user insight and enable informed decision-making if remedial action is required.

IO-Link

To further drive efficiencies, IO-Link remote set up capability enables real time data exchange for application performance oversight, as well as measuring air usage to calculate potential energy savings.

Pratik Vishwakarma, Product Manager for IMI says: “The M/80 Inline Flow Sensor is a multifunctional compressed air system monitoring sensor. It is designed to deliver the precise operational insight essential to improving energy consumption performance and reducing energy costs for industrial compressed air applications.

“With its ‘all-in-one’ sensor capabilities for flow rate, pressure, temperature and total energy consumption, its delivers clear installation cost benefits and reduces the total cost of ownership. It is easy to operate, providing users with immediate and clear visualisation of important performance data to help drive increased operational efficiencies.

“Finally, IO-Link remote set up and ongoing application performance data monitoring gives the real time, accurate information required to measure compressed air usage and ensure energy consumption is optimised at all times.”
