Paragon Rapid Technologies appoints Jim Ashby as Applications Development Manager for South of UK

Paragon Rapid Technologies, one of the UK’s leading prototyping and low volume manufacturing companies, is delighted to welcome James Ashby as its new Applications Development Manager for the South.

Jim joined Paragon Rapid Technologies on 20th March 2023. He will focus on strengthening ties with existing customers based in the South of England, as well as building new relationships with OEMs, Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers in the region. He will be promoting all technologies in the Paragon portfolio, from 3D printing to CNC machining.

Jim is a Rolls-Royce trained Fuel systems engineer with 10 years’ experience in Additive Manufacturing (AM), supporting the Aerospace, Medical, Automotive, Optics, Military, Robotics,  and Consumer goods markets UK wide. He has a particularly keen interest in new AM developments in machinery, processes, and materials.

Jim’s consultative style has given him an undeniably excellent track record in helping customers to gain a deeper understanding of the commercial and technical benefits of AM and CNC subcontract machining in their businesses – from product development through to serial manufacturing. In his spare time, Jim is a keen walker with a love of the outdoors; and an eager acoustic guitarist (and guitar collector).

“We’re delighted to have Jim on board,” says Phill Adamson, Paragon’s CEO. “He comes from an engineering background, which includes extensive additive manufacturing knowledge, as well as expertise across numerous technologies. We feel he will be a real asset and his expertise in key industry sectors will only strengthen what we are able to offer. Jim will play a vital role in developing new business, as well as helping existing clients identify the most appropriate technologies for their applications. We’re excited to have him on board and very much look forward to seeing him become a key part of the team.”

“I’m looking forward to helping the UK manufacturing industry gain access to Paragon’s full suite of additive and subtractive capabilities,” says Jim. “There’s also a 70+ strong team offering a wealth of experience, skills and expertise.”
