Addparts set to make its mark at major UK trade show

Addparts set to make its mark at major UK trade show : Addition Design, an innovative design and additive manufacturing business from Rotherham, is gearing up to unveil a brand-new service at a major industry event being held in Birmingham next week.

The new offering called AddParts, which is delivered exclusively by Addition Design, supplies digital spares for automated production lines on demand through the use of 3D scanning, digital data management and industrial 3D printing. It gives customers across a number of sectors a competitive advantage by reducing downtime on automated production lines and thereby lowering associated costs.

AddParts will be unveiled at the PPMA Show which is the largest processing and packaging machinery exhibition in the UK. Taking place from 26-28 September at the NEC in Birmingham, it showcases the very latest in processing and packaging machinery, robotics and industrial vision systems, coupled with the latest innovations in materials, containers and packaging design.

Tom Fripp, director at Addition Design said: “We are thrilled to be attending this prestigious event which is the UK’s largest gathering for the processing equipment, packaging machinery, industrial robots and machine vision systems to bring our new service to market.

“It’s a really exciting time for us to be in a position to showcase AddParts and the difference it can make to the manufacturing industry. Customers will be able to see this end-to-end process for themselves and how AddParts can supply accurate, durable replacement components in days, not weeks as our team will have the 3D scanner on the stand with them.”

Based at the Advanced Manufacturing Park Technology Centre, Addition Design was one of the first businesses in the country to invest in the necessary new 3D technology that drives AddParts and sparked the start of this unique service.

Added Tom: “Our investment in new equipment, and in subsequent expert personnel, forms the foundation for AddParts’ unique methodology of unlocking the benefits of industrial 3D print technology to provide new opportunities and deliver even higher performance components with reduced lead times offering a really focussed solution that manufacturers can truly benefit from.

“To build on this work, over the last year we have invested heavily in three key areas of our business. This includes the high-res 3D scanner which minimises the impact of downtime for customers as well as a portal system providing a virtual storeroom of components and in production technology to ensure dependable production of accurate, durable components.

“We’re looking forward to showing what we can do at PPMA and meeting as many people who struggle with the costs of machine downtime as possible.”

AddParts will be on stand F11 throughout the PPMA Show.
