This year’s event welcomed our valued partners and customers – Angel Trains, Knorr-Bremse Rail Vehicle Systems, Porterbrook and Rock Rail, who returned to the tournament for a third year, as well as new team 7 Futures, battling it out against three Siemens Mobility teams.
Cllr Anne Handley, Leader of East Riding of Yorkshire Council, commented: “Over the past 2 years the Siemens Charity Cricket Day has raised over £45,000 for local charities, all striving to make lives in Goole better.
“We are so delighted that this day, now firmly established in the annual calendar, continues to make such an impact to the people of Goole, alongside the many incredible volunteering contributions from the team at Siemens Mobility.”
The Goole Charity Cricket Day is just one of many initiatives Siemens Mobility commits to annually, in pursuit of making a lasting impact on the local community. Wider initiatives include Siemens Mobility’s partnership with the charity, Primary Engineer, to deliver Science, Technology, Engineering and Math engagement programmes to 13 local schools, with aim to introduce primary aged children to engineering concepts and skills and drive interest in engineering careers.
Two Rivers Community Pantry, a social supermarket and foodbank serving Goole and surrounding areas, is another organisation that Siemens Mobility has shown continued support to, with 2024 marking the fifth consecutive year of donations and support at Christmas.
