It is less than a month left until the next edition of EXPO Ferroviaria, Italy’s only showcase for railway technologies, products and systems takes place. On 28 September, the event dedicated to the international railway industry will open its doors in halls 16 and 20 of Rho Fiera Milano, in Milan, Italy.
The sector’s key players will present their innovations throughout the three days at the show, confirming the event’s attractiveness and the rail sector’s critical role in the manufacturing economy. Moreover, 2021 is the European Year of Rail, identified by the European Commission as an essential step towards the ecological transition, as well as the tenth anniversary of the event.
To date, there are over 180 exhibitors from 14 countries, including Alstom Ferroviaria SpA, Colas Rail SpA, Stadler Rail Management AG, Mermec, Knorr Bremse Rail System Italia Srl, ABB SpA, Hitachi Rail STS SpA, Lucchini RS SpA, Wabtec Corporation, Salcef Group SpA, Vossloh Locomotive GmbH, Vossloh Sistemi Srl and Siemens SpA.
Now more than ever, after the pandemic, the event represents an opportunity for professionals in the railway sector to share trends, launch new products, encourage corporate marketing activities and meet face-to-face with customers, suppliers and business partners.
An area of the exhibition space is assigned to the infrastructure area, underlining the great importance that this sector occupies within the industry. The partner of the infrastructure area is D.R. Ferroviaria Italia. The on-tracks display, which will showcase products and equipment, will be the key feature of this section.
EXPO Ferroviaria will also include an intense programme of conferences, seminars, and exhibitor presentations, which will enhance the visitor experience with essential debates and discussions on technological trends. Conferences will be held in Italian. On the opening day, there will be the conference “European Year of Railways: Europe without borders” – organised by Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane – and “The Lyon-Turin railway line 150 years after the Frejus tunnel: speed and safety under the Alps”, organised by TELT.
On Wednesday, 29 September, “The ecological revolution in rail transport” hosted by Alstom Ferroviaria and “From diesel traction to the new battery and hydrogen trains” held by CIFI and ASSIFER. On the third day, the Ferpress conference “Trains, night trains and dream trains. Back to the future beyond the high speed” and “Railways-Aerospace: examples of a successful technological alliance” hosted by DAC – Campania Aerospace Technological District. The SIG Conference will also be held on 29 and 30 September, with two sessions: “Industrialisation in the processes of creating underground infrastructures” and “Industrialisation in the maintenance and adaptation processes of underground infrastructures”.
