Grupo Antolin Expands Site in Burton-on-Trent

Grupo Antolin, the Automotive manufacturing company have helped to boost confidence in the British manufacturing industry by increasing their space at St Modwen’s Barton Business Park. The Spanish manufacturing company has announced that they will be doubling their space at the Burton-on-Trent site which is great news as we move closer to Brexit.

The Automotive manufacturing company now occupies 183,000 sq. ft. of space and the expansion to their premises has led to the creation of 150 new jobs. These new jobs also help to boost the local area. Grupo Antolin is known for being a first-tier automotive supplier of interior trim systems and components for a number of major OEM’s from multiple sites across the UK. This Spanish company occupied 70,000 sq. ft. of space at the Barton Square Business Park before the announcement of this new expansion, and the manufacturing company has also recently signed a 15-year lease to expand their operations. This long term commitment from a European company is bound to give some reassurance in regards to trade plans when the UK leaves the European Union in 2019.

This new deal will mean that St Modwen’s total of successfully completed lettings in the industrial and logistics sector to 1million sq. ft. in 2017. The people who manage the Business Park conducted a review of their business earlier in the year and noticed the potential for development across the St Mowden land holdings, as it is located near to key infrastructure links that create opportunities to meet the demand for space in this market. These latest lettings by the Automotive manufacturer demonstrate the business park management’s belief that there is value in this growth sector. Grupo Antolin will be moving into this newly developed space and taking on an 113,000 sq. ft. unit which is adjacent to their existing plot.
