Three charities making a real difference to the lives of people across Halewood and the wider Liverpool City region have celebrated their achievements at Ford’s Halewood plant, after each receiving a one-time grant from Ford Philanthropy.
The charities were welcomed to the plant on Friday, 25 September, by Plant Manager Steve Buck and Antonia Gogolin, Head of Ford Philanthropy Europe. The Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Cllr William Shortall, together with representatives from Knowsley Council, also joined the celebration.
The Ford Philanthropy grants are part of a £1 million investment by Ford Philanthropy and its international grantmaking partner, GlobalGiving, to support Halewood and the wider Liverpool City Region. Awarded following an open call for proposals from local nonprofits in 2025, the funding focuses on two impact areas: essential services and education for the future of work.
“Ford has always been part of its communities, with a strong spirit of partnership and ambition,” said Antonia Gogolin, Head of Ford Philanthropy Europe. “We were delighted to invite local nonprofit partners to the Halewood plant for a tour and to hear first-hand about the difference they’re making in people’s lives. We also valued the opportunity to discuss the community’s needs and opportunities with representatives from Knowsley Council and the Lord Mayor of Liverpool. We’re proud to support this work and its lasting impact across Halewood and the Liverpool City region.”
Each of the three organisations is already making a real difference to local residents. The grant will help them reach even further, strengthening the support they provide to local families and creating new routes into education, work and enterprise.
The event marks a proud moment for Ford’s relationship with the communities around its Halewood plant, bringing together the company, local government and the voluntary sector around a shared ambition to drive meaningful, lasting change in the region.
