Final Call for Technology Developers to Apply for Start-up Funding and Support

The Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC) is urging micro, small and medium-sized enterprises to grab the opportunity to apply for the sixth wave of its Technology Developer Accelerator Programme (TDAP) for start-up funding. The organisation is looking for ambitious technology developers with innovative ideas for on or off-vehicle technology, products or services that support the UK’s net-zero emissions targets. Companies can apply for the chance to receive up to £135,000 in funding, combined with invaluable business support and mentoring.

TDAP transforms good ideas into market viable technologies, through an 18-month phased programme designed to set small-scale innovators up for commercial success. Companies that have completed TDAP have benefitted from developing prototypes and product demonstrators, finding new routes to market, developing new partnerships, and strengthening their strategies and business plans.

“TDAP has a demonstrated history of identifying and accelerating fantastic ideas that can help make a real difference on the road to net zero. In fact, since we started, previous TDAP companies have benefited from over £100 million in further investment. With just two weeks left to go until applications close, we encourage anyone with a net-zero emission technology concept to register an Expression of Interest now to give yourself enough time. You never know where your idea can take you,” said Josh Denne, Head of SME Programmes.

Notable recent successes include White Motorcycle Concepts (Wave 4) partnering with Northamptonshire Police on the development of a new three-wheel hybrid first responder motorcycle, and cobalt and lithium-free sodium solid-state battery spin-out LiNa Energy (Wave 5) closing a £3.5 million start-up funding round.

Applications close on 2nd February 2022 with a target start date of May 2022.
