Cosworth has launched the Antares 4 and Antares 6 ECUs, the first additions to its industry-leading Antares ECU family. Engineered with a balance of cost-efficiency and high performance, the Antares 4 and Antares 6 models bring the advanced capabilities of the revered Antares 8 to a wider array of motorsport applications.
Meticulously designed and developed to empower OEMs, motorsport teams and individuals, the Antares 4 and 6 can function as a complete vehicle controller and data logger, all fully supported by Cosworth’s renowned Software Toolchain.
“Cosworth is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of motorsport engineering, and the Antares 4 and 6 demonstrate our commitment to making high-tech solutions accessible across all levels of competition,” said Stef Balkowiec, Managing Director at Cosworth Electronics.
“By expanding the Antares family, we’re equipping teams with the precision and power of Cosworth technology in a more adaptable, budget-conscious package.”
Expansion of the Antares family
Building on the success of the Antares 8, the new Antares 4 and 6 ECUs retain all the market-leading control capabilities that define the Antares family. Both ECUs have been designed to support a range of powertrain technologies – including internal combustion engines, hybrids, plug-in hybrids and battery electric vehicles. Along with such control capabilities, Antares 4 and 6 offer high-rate synchronised data logging for unmatched precision and reliability. Both new ECU units come equipped with sophisticated, out-of-the-box control features such as multi-pulse and stratified GDI control, active torque management and FIA-compliant real-time PPU and BOP control.
For teams seeking advanced customisation, Cosworth’s real-time embedded software generation platform enables the development of bespoke control algorithms within the MATLAB Simulink environment. This allows teams to deploy complex powertrain and chassis control algorithms, signal processing routines, dynamic models and ultra high-speed data processing within the development toolchain. For race-winning performance, teams can develop strategies utilising Simulink Neural Network blocks to create the ultimate machine learning for driven traction control, allowing them to be one step ahead of the competition.
The Antares 4 and 6 devices are fully supported by Cosworth’s application-specific and industry leading software tools much like the Antares 8 to enable OEMs, teams and individual users alike to streamline development processes and trackside operations.
