Barnbrook Systems Set to Build on Transformative Year

Barnbrook Systems set to build on transformative year

Global solutions provider Barnbrook Systems has hailed a ‘breakthrough year’ in which it has widened its international reach and won significant new and repeat business.

The Hampshire manufacturing and engineering firm will use the success as a springboard to boost its Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO), Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) and defence business in 2026.

Highlights of Barnbrook’s 2025 also included the opening of a North America office in the aerospace hub of Fairfax County, Virginia, USA, following on from its Europe office in Prague.

A trade mission to the Asia Pacific region that took in Dubai, Seoul, Shanghai and Melbourne built strong partnerships and routes to new markets.

During 2025, Barnbrook gained repeat orders for its brake controller for trains and cutting-edge refuelling switch for helicopters, and won new business including a seven-figure contract over 10 years to supply relays for Rolls-Royce engines on a friendly foreign navy’s entire fleet of destroyers.

Towards the end of 2025, Barnbrook became a member of the International Institute of Obsolescence Management (IIOM) and managing director Andrew Barnett was also appointed chair of the South Central Regional Defence and Security Cluster (SCRDSC).

It also won five business awards and worked in partnership with Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance as its charity of the year in 2025.

Barnbrook managing director Andrew Barnett said: “This has been our first full year since our relaunch in 2024.

“It has been a breakthrough year for the company both in terms of winning significant new and repeat business as well as our repositioning of the business on the global stage.

“In addition to opening new European and North America offices, we signed distribution partnerships with agents to help us break into new markets across the Middle East, Asia and the Pacific.

“It means our strategic growth plan to transform Barnbrook is ahead of schedule despite the challenging economic and regulatory climate, and gives great confidence as we look ahead to 2026.

“Rail, aviation, aerospace, defence, maritime and fire security will remain key markets but we will also continue to focus on the development of new technology and its application across multiple sectors, including green hydrogen.

“Demand continues to grow for our MRO services, especially in defence and aerospace, where expect to gain greater market share in 2026.”

In 2026 Barnbrook will use its Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) and Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) accreditations to develop its Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) business to help customers such as the military and prime contractors to meet MRO demands and combat obsolescence.

It comes as Barnbrook, with nearly 50 employees, prepares for a record 15th consecutive appearance at Farnborough International Airshow next July.

Andrew said: “It is the effort, skills and commitment of Barnbrook’s people that continues to make the difference to the success of our business. We look forward to an exciting year ahead in 2026.”

Barnbrook’s award-winning technology includes its BlueCube© Intelligent Internet of Things (IIOT) remote sensing tracking system and an E:BAG created with technology firm Flair that suppresses lithium-ion battery fires.

The E:BAG was featured on the BBC’s prime time programme The One Show during 2025.

Barnbrook Systems, an independent, family-owned business with nearly 50 staff, was founded in 1978.
