Remote Medical International, the health and safety services specialist, has completed the acquisition of SSI Group. The acquired company specialises in emergency response services for the oil and gas and renewable energy sectors.

Seattle-headquartered Remote Medical International, which also has operations in South Shields, will leverage SSI’s years of work to provide medical and technical support for offshore wind farms and other renewable energy construction projects in the North Sea and North America. It will also look to expand its work with large corporations.

The complimentary nature of our businesses adds to our ability to design bespoke solutions for our clients that save lives and improve the health of workers in diverse job sites around the world,” said Wayne Wager, chief executive of Remote Medical International.

Together, the companies will produce a range of Covid-19 medical services for businesses looking to create safe back-to-work situations.

Higham has been named Remote Medical International’s vice president of global strategy, reporting directly to Wager.

Julian Rawles, formerly SSI’s commercial director, will serve as the managing director of Remote Medical International UK reporting to chief operating officer Paul Budak.
