The new lubricant manufactured by TOTAL has been given a new OEM approval. The approval has been granted for the RUBIA TIR 9900 5W-30. TOTAL has developed a partnership with the worldâs leading automakers and industrial companies in their drive to develop lubricants that are used in the automotive, industrial and marine sectors. TOTAL has also managed over the years to develop a deep-rooted presence in the motorsport industry as well as being the official oil for 27 world championships titles in Formula One. TOTAL is also the only integrated oil company that are manufacturing products in this market in the UK.
The RUBIA TIR 9900 FE 5W-30 engine oil that has been manufactured by TOTAL is a Euro IV oil that has been said to be compatible with all types of engines. The TOTAL lubricant has been given the Scania LDF-4 approval.
It is thought that the new lubricant that has been manufactured by TOTAL is part of a new generation of lubricants that have been created to be suitable for the latest commercial vehicles such as Scania, Mercedes-Benz, DAF, MAN, Volvo and Renault Trucks to name just a few.
The low SAPS feature of the new lubricants, or low ash, phosphorous and sulphur composition means that they are suited for the latest versions of engines and when teamed with fuel economy transmission lubricants can lead to a fuel saving of approximately 1L from each 100km. This equates to around 3% for consumers and is a great saving for consumers long term.
