Stiller Expand with £750,000 Warehouse

Stiller Expand with £750,000 Warehouse

Aycliffe based Stiller Warehousing and Distribution has been lent a helping hand by local steel firm SCH Site Services, as they have assisted in the development work for the new 40,000 sq ft. warehouse that has cost around £750,000.

SCH have completed the steel fabrication and erection of the frame within just eight weeks of work, making the new facility well on course for completion within the new year, and continuing the company’s glowing record recently following successful work on projects for companies such as Hall Construction.

We are delighted to have worked on a project so close to us in Newton Aycliffe which is supporting several local employers said Gary Finley, Managing Director of SCH. We fabricated the steel in house at our facility just around the corner from Stiller’s site and erected it on site.

The extension had to join an existing warehouse which made it a little more complex than a stand-alone shed and we also had to design the end connections for the structure, but we’re pleased we’ve been able to work with one of our neighbours in enabling their ambitious plans for future growth.

Stiller’s recent investment in property, people and equipment has amounted to over £6.4 million, and has included a new £1.1 million warehouse, several new trailers and two new external storage companies for the company, but the latest project is expected to support dozens of jobs for the construction industry in the local area.

Nearly all of our space is allocated to clients at the moment, which is a great position to be in said Stiller’s Commercial Manager, Matthew Stiller. The latest development is a speculative build, but we’re confident there’ll be a fairly high demand for the space, and we very much like working with local companies.
