Steel Manufacturer Has Seen a Major Boost in Its Exports

The UK manufacturing company Fabweld Steel Products (FSP) has seen its export sales rising 150% in 2017 compared to 2016. Its high profile projects attract new business overseas and the demand for its products has doubled.

One of the most prestigious projects in Europe that FSP was involved in is the redesign of the ancient Eleftheria Square in Nicosia, Cyprus. It also designed and manufactured replacement access covers installed at the entrance to the Palais des Festivals et des Congres Cannes, France, or civil engineers ETS Brosio on behalf of its client, the Cannes Waste Water Syndicate.

The firm employs 35 people at its headquarters in Telford and is planning now to increase its focus on the global markets. Building on its success within the EU, the access and drainage cover manufacturer will reach out to even more international markets.

Commenting on the fact that UK is planning its departure from the European Union, Managing Director Richard Hilton said that the company has a strong focus in France and Germany where we have built up strong relationships and a reputation for providing a skilled and responsive service. No-one knows what a difference leaving the EU will make to British so we are also making exploratory moves towards new territories and sectors.

The firm’s attendance at the recent procurement event for all the major French utility companies and public authorities has helped them network with even more businesses. I have recently met with agents in the Middle East with a view to moving into that area. Our international reputation is spreading and the increase in our exports is reflected in our order book, said Richard.

With more than 25 years of experience in designing and manufacturing fabricated steel access covers and associated drainage products, FSP is dedicated to its clients and it offers improved quality, greater precision, and product innovation.
