£20 Million Building Completed by BAM Construction

A £20 million building has been completed by BAM Construction at Tachbrook Park in Leamington Spa. The location will be the new European Headquarters for Tata Technologies. The company will be using the new Leamington Spa will mainly house the engineering services of the company and their research & development teams.

Tata Technologies will use the new facility in order to develop new technology to be utilised in automotive, aerospace and industrial machinery. As well as the purpose of the building to house the technology development aspect of the company’s engineering services, the building made the most of british engineers while constructing the new Tachbrook Park site.

The new European headquarters was designed by Webb Gray, with the 63,000 sq ft space for offices being designed in order to be sustainable. The office space for Tata Technologies has been given the BREEAM excellent rating mainly due to the use of Gilberts’ air ventilation.

Gilberts has installed linear slot diffusers and extract valves into the façade of the building. The building has been designed in a way that would be able to adapt, with the internal layouts able to change according to requirements. In order to make sure that the ventilation in the building is kept efficient with the adaptable layout, Gilberts advised that their GSL slot diffusers are required for the meeting rooms and offices, while the engineering company’s GX extra valves would work better installed into the open spaces to provide air changes.

The adaptability of the building and the focus on the BREEAM requirements mean that a ventilation strategy was needed. BAM Construction was also consulted during the selection phase to make sure that the best system was used in order to create a high standard of air quality throughout the building.

Gilberts design and manufactures the components for their systems in the UK, and has one of the most technically advanced test centres in the country allowing Gilberts to take care of the entire process from design to testing in house before they are supplied to site.
