UK heating firm Glow-worm has given Portsmouth Football Club an energy boost with the donation of a new boiler.
The clubâs boiler broke down, which left the League Two side with no hot water or heating for the playersâ showers.
The firm donated a 30kW Glow-worm Energy combination boiler paired with a Climapro wireless heating control, which ensures that the hot water and heating can be adjusted from any point on site.
The club has shown its gratitude to the company by giving away three shirts: one signed by centre back, Jack Whatmough; one signed by striker, Conor Chaplin; and a final shirt signed by both players.
Local gas engineers will be able to get their hands on the shirt signed by Whatmough through a sales promotion with Portsmouth business Williams & Co.
Meanwhile, Chaplinâs signed shirt will be given away as part of Glow-wormâs installer loyalty scheme, âClub Energyâ, to the member who registers the highest number of boilers throughout May to August.
The donation from Glow-worm was brought about by Keith Hooper, a lifelong Pompey fan and Club Energy member, who works for Pentland Plumbing.
Glow-worm, established in the UK in 1934, is part of the Vaillant Group, whose Managing Director, Jim Moore, confirmed that he is to leave the company to take on a new role outside of the company.
Moore led the group in Britain for the last 12 years, during which time he developed Vaillant as a successful global firm.
He is to be replaced by Klaus Jelle, who has worked for the company in several leading capacities since 1985.
Before he took over the management of the groupâs international export activities, he was responsible for Vaillant in Switzerland, Austria and Germany.
As regional director for the UK and Ireland, he will report directly to the managing director for sales, marketing and service, Dr Andree Groos, at Vaillant Group in Germany.
