Funding Secured by Steel Industry Consultancy
Funding Secured by Steel Industry Consultancy : The UK Steel Enterprise’s Regeneration Fund has backed up a new steel industry consultancy. Elemy was set up just a few months ago by Richard Brine, who has more than three decades experience in the steel industry, and his partner Clair Murphy, who has a track record in finance and business management, with the pair recently securing £7,500 of funding from the Tata Steel business-support subsidiary. “We are very pleased with the high level of initial interest. It includes opportunities in the UK, Europe, USA, the Middle East and further afield with more than 50% of our work to date from outside the UK,” commented Richard Brine. Brine’s senior business roles, include European sales manager for British Steel and business development with Lionweld Kennedy, with the couple behind Elemy now eyeing a move away from their home based office in Marske, to a workspace suitable for growth. “It is good to see a new business making such a strong start and using the valuable expertise gained over decades in the steel industry. We were happy to support Elemy at this vital stage and look forward to seeing the business go from strength to strength and create valuable jobs in one of our steel areas,” added Sarah Thorpe, area manager for UK Steel Enterprise. The consultancy’s specialty is connecting local and global suppliers of glass reinforced polymer composites and other niche carbon steel and non-ferrous metals to a range of customers across different market sectors.
