Leading pharmaceuticals manufacturer and distributor, Perrigo, has appointed a new head of UK and Ireland business in the form of Neil Lister.

Perrigo occupies a place in the top five for over-the-counter (OTC) and prescription pharmaceuticals manufacture. From its founding in 1887, the firm has stood for consumer value, producing high quality products and, crucially, offering them at a competitive rate. Remaining headquartered in Ireland, the firm has established a global presence and is, in fact, the world’s largest manufacturer of OTC products. Perrigo now has a wide client base within the Western World as well as providing products as far afield as Israel and China.

Lister is the take the helm of the newly-combined UK and Ireland business. He joined Perrigo in 2011, acting as general manager for the firm’s branded consumer pharmaceuticals and healthcare division, Omega Pharma. Following his success within the role, Neil Lister has now been enlisted as Perrigo’s vice president and managing director of UK and Ireland.

Lister brings a wealth of experience to the role having spent some 12 years at Proctor & Gamble (P&G), the leading American, multinational consumer goods firm which specialises in cleaning and personal care and grooming products. It was at P&G that, Neil Lister shouldered the role of head of pharmacy channel and oral care. He is thus more the well equipped to lead Perrigo for the years to come. Specifically, Lister will be responsible for the Omega Pharma sister company – with which he is highly familiar – as well as tackling Perrigo’s healthcare and prescription pharmaceutical arm.

Commenting on his appointment, Lister said he was elated and has big ambitions for the future of Perrigo. He promises to bring the flexibility and hard-and-fast style of development that so characterised Omega Pharma within the parent company, itself, and thus the company can look forward to even brighter and ever more crucial future.
