Element proudly announces its Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) status from the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). This milestone marks a significant extension of Element’s safety capabilities and enables the issuance of the proprietary Element trademark for the first time in history.
With this new status, Element is better positioned to expand its reach across the strategic growth areas of connected technologies, life sciences and medical devices. Element NRTL status gives Element the license to operate in the segments of medical equipment under ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1, audio/video, information and communication technology equipment under UL 62368-1, and electrical equipment for measurement, control, and laboratory use under UL 61010.
The company intends to maintain its long-standing relationships with other conformity assessment organizations and will collaborate with them as it charts a new direction for the business.
Lisa Bate, Senior Vice President of Connected Technology and Mobility in the Americas at Element, said: “Securing an Element safety mark on products is our latest achievement as a global leader in testing, inspection and certification services. We are excited to join a guild of respected NRTL testing laboratories, and to offer our customers enhanced safety and certification capabilities worldwide.”
Element Irvine’s state-of-the-art facility, where the new certification originates from, features expanded EMC chamber capacity and an extensive suite of EMI/EMI immunity, wireless radio testing, and product safety testing for commercial and medical devices. With its certification system in place, Element is set to deliver quicker turnaround times and an even more competitive pricing structure for its customers.
