The Walt Disney Company has cut all ties with a Chinese toy manufacturer over reported violations of labour standards.
The firm has ended its partnership with Dongguan Qing Xi Juantiway Plastic Factory over issues regarding workers’ conditions.
The global entertainment powerhouse has ended its relationship with Dongguan Qing Xi Juantiway Plastic Factory, who develops Disney branded toys for the firm, when various issues regarding working conditions came to light.
According to Disney, the facilities in question had been pin pointed by the New York-based labour rights group China Labor Watch back in June. The factory had since failed to address the concerns.
Bloomberg was the first to report the story earlier this week.
Our investigation has revealed that Dongguan Qing Xi Juantiway Plastic Factory failed to remediate hiring and human resource issues identified during an investigation of the facility last year, read a statement from Disney.
