Another Premier League Club Set For New Stadium!

Another Premier League Club Set For New Stadium!

Another Premier League Club Set For New Stadium! : Everton FC has been handed some fantastic news after a deal to build a new stadium on Liverpool’s waterfront appears to have been struck, with developer Peel reportedly acquiring the land that will act as the foundations for the new £300 million stadium. In what many have described as the most significant moment in Everton’s recent history, the club is finally set to move out of the historic Goodison Park, in an attempt to branch out and play football in a stadium that matches the club’s ambitions.

The Toffees confirmed last week that a finance model to buy the land at Bramley Moore Dock had been put into place, and that the board were delighted with the Peel agreement. This isn’t the first time that Everton have been close to agreeing a deal for a new stadium however, with planned moves to King’s Dock in 2003 and Kirkby in 2009 both falling through, but this time it looks as though the club has been firmly given the green light.

Clearly, it is vital we have clarity on cost and we have to recognise that the stadium will be significantly more expensive at Bramley Moore Dock, commented Robert Elstone, the Chief Executive at Everton FC. To get that certainty, and ensure the stadium is affordable, we need to confirm stadium design, capacity and configuration.

The club has played its football at Goodison Park since 1892, and although the ground will hold many fond memories and plenty of sentimental value for Toffee fans, there is a clear consensus agreeing that this is the right move.

It was recently confirmed that Tottenham Hotspurs will be moving to a new home soon, which followed West Ham United’s move to the London Stadium. Now it is Everton’s turn, and you can expect the excitement surrounding the club to keep building as fans await further news on this development!
