Continuing its growth The Barcode Warehouse has unveiled its new cutting-edge immersive Innovation and Customer Experience (ICE) Centre in Newark, Nottinghamshire. The ICE Centre provides visitors and businesses with the opportunity to see a range of leading technology solutions and applications first-hand, specific to a range of sectors including manufacturing, healthcare, and warehousing and logistics.

As the UK’s leading specialist technology provider, known for its barcode and RFID solutions and industry-leading mobility managed services, The Barcode Warehouse’s new centre marks the third site to be opened in the market town since the company was founded 35 years ago.

The family-run business is continuing to spearhead the creation of a tech hub in Nottinghamshire, outside of the main hubs in London and South-East England, and now employs more than 300 people, many of whom are from Newark and Sherwood District.

The new ICE centre, officially unveiled by Sir John Peace Lord-Lieutenant of Nottingham, will see The Barcode Warehouse continue to work closely with the local councils, colleges and universities, to create further job opportunities for people in Nottinghamshire, and further afield.

The unveiling event brought leading tech brands to Newark including, Samsung, Epson, Zebra and Honeywell, and also entailed tours of the technology innovation suite, seminars and keynote talks delivered by high-profile brands such as Android.

Fitted with the latest business technologies, the 25,000sq. ft ICE centre is designed to create an interactive space for customers to trial and view demonstrations of the latest forward-thinking industry solutions. The first-hand immersive experience provides businesses with the opportunity to understand how new industry-led tech solutions can be easily translated into their business.

Supported by solution architects, businesses can conceptualise and develop tailor-made solutions unique to their business and target market. The centre provides demonstrations and visual guides for how these technologies can transform business operations and offers solution labs for a wide range of industries, including healthcare, field services, retail, hospitality, manufacturing and transport and logistics.

Ross Lee, Chairman and Founder of The Barcode Warehouse, said: “Over the years, The Barcode Warehouse has grown remarkably and we have vastly broadened our technology specialisms; this has been made possible through the dedication, passion and customer-focused ethos of our people. While we may no longer be a traditional small family business, I believe our small business ethics of flexibility, customer services and family centric approach is key to our success, and has been pivotal in our ability to meet and exceed customers’ needs time and again.

Lee continued: “The new ICE Centre is a natural step for us, and we look forward to continuing our expansion within the Nottinghamshire region and beyond. The sky is the limit for The Barcode Warehouse.”

The purpose-designed facility includes interactive meeting and training rooms, demonstration areas, a café, an auditorium, and break out spaces.
