Eviosys, a Sonoco company (NYSE: SON) and Europe’s leading metal packaging supplier, proudly announces its recognition with the Platinum EcoVadis Medal, placing the company in the top 1% of over 150,000 companies assessed annually by EcoVadis. This prestigious award highlights Eviosys’ unwavering commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
EcoVadis, the world’s most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings, evaluates companies across 175 countries and 200 industries. The Platinum Medal, its highest honour, is awarded to the top 1% of companies demonstrating outstanding sustainability practices and exceptional management systems addressing key sustainability criteria.
Eviosys achieved an impressive overall score of 84/100, including a perfect score of 100/100 in the environmental dimension. This distinction highlights the company’s dedication to prioritising sustainability in its operations, from materials to processes, ensuring sustainability remains a core focus in all aspects of its business.
The company acquired by Sonoco last December actively integrates sustainability into all its manufacturing processes and materials. Specialising in metal packaging—a material that is infinitely recyclable, easy to sort, and highly valued—Eviosys contributes to a circular economy that preserves resources and minimises waste.
Eviosys demonstrates accountability by annually reporting their Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The company has set ambitious goals to reduce Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 50% and Scope 3 emissions by 30% by 2030. Additionally, they are committed to achieving carbon neutrality in 2050. Notably, in 2023, Eviosys exceeded their GHG reduction targets four years ahead of schedule. Alongside this, they are a signatory of the UN Global Compact, and a committed to the Science Based Targets Initiative, underscoring their commitment to sustainability.
