John Lewis Announces Billion Pound Own Brand Investment

John Lewis has announced its billion pound ambition to grow its own brand Home business across the next four years, along with plans to further expand its exclusive relationships with external brands.

The retail giant is planning to build on its success by putting quality and design credentials right at the centre of its plans for further growth.

One of the most important elements of this plan is this Autumn’s new Design Project collection, which is a 250 piece collection designed in-house that will be centred on thoughtful design and targets customers who want to decorate their home with progressive contemporary items.

The company has also revealed it will carry on building its own existing brands, of which House is one, that focus on meeting the requirements of ‘generation rent’ by drawing upon timeless designs which feature luxurious, natural materials.

Recently, the firm also launched a number of exclusive collaborations with external brands, including West Elm and Loaf, along with dining chain Leon.

Included in the Loaf collection are five exclusively deigned pieces which come in 22 different fabrics, while John Lewis is the only retailer to stock West Elm, which will soon be rolled out across nine of its branches.

John Lewis offers a wide range of home services which allow customers to design and personalise all the rooms in their home to fit their unique needs with the help of expert John Lewis Partners.

Included in the services are the Home Design consultation and Any Sofa Any Fabric, which sees sofa models brought to life in hundreds of various fabric combinations, along with custom-made window dressings, fitted furniture and many more.

Recently, John Lewis invested £14 million into its flagship Oxford Street Home Department and has also opened new Home Hub departments at its new branches in Birmingham, Basingstoke and Horsham.
