SEK Holdings, the company behind a manufacturer of park homes and leisure lodges, has seen its turnover to more than double in size. Headquartered at Express Business Park in Rushden, Northamptonshire, the company has reported a turnover of £45.6 million for the year to 31 March 2018, up from £22.9 million 12 months earlier.

Moreover, gross profit also increased to £13.4 million from £6.9 million in 2017. However, compared to 2017 when the pre-tax loss was £106,921, the group that owns Prestige Homeseeker Park & Leisure Homes posted a pre-tax loss of £1.9 million for this year. The loss was due to administrative expenses rocketing to more than £8 million from £3.7 million a year earlier. Excluding the one-off costs, the business was profitable.

“The directors are pleased to report that in the year ended 31 March 2018, as in the period ended 31 March 2017, before the exceptional administrative expenses, one off other operating charges and amortisation of consolidated goodwill, the group was profitable. The reduction in the group net assets is also only a result of the one-off exceptional administrative expenses and one-off other operating charges and the group is forecast to increase its net assets again in the next financial year,” read a statement signed off by the board.

Recently, Prestige Homeseeker Park & Leisure Homes placed 21st in Insider’s latest Growth 100 list, with an adjusted average annual growth of 81.6%. The business was also shortlisted for the Apprentice of the Year Award and the Manufacturing Apprenticeship/Training Scheme Award in the Made in the Central & East England Awards.
