IPH Acquired by Advent International and Merged with Brammer

In order to create a leading European industrial supplies company, IPH and Brammer have combined. Advent International first made Brammer private from the London Stock Exchange earlier this year and has now recently completed their acquisition of IPH. Advent acquired IPH on Friday, allowing the combination with Brammer to take place.

Now operating as a combined entity, IPH-Brammer will be able to draw on the strengths and history provided by both companies in order to offer their customers a larger technical product range. This offering will be supported by a larger geographic footprint spread across Europe and including brands such as Brammer, Minetti, Zitec or Orexad. IPH-Brammer has nearly €2.2 billion in combined revenues and over 8,000 employees. The combined companies will also have operations in 23 European companies, with their headquarters located in London.

The former CEO of IPH, Pierre Pouletty will stay with the newly merged company and will move into the position of Chief Executive Officer of IPH-Brammer. Alongside him in this role will be the former CEO of Brammer, Hermann Maier who will be working as the Chief Operating Officer of the newly merged industrial supplies distributor.

IPH has successfully worked over the past four years to become a leading pan-European company. The business has achieved more than 50 acquisitions, has expanded their operations into five new countries and has worked on building an e-business platform as well as a forming a world class European group management team. The combination of IPH and Brammer is significant for the European industrial supplies market as well as being a milestone in the evolution of the two companies.

Brammer was first established in 1920 in Leeds. The company has developed through organic growth and acquisitions over the years. The company has a strong presence in the German, French, Spanish and Benelux markets and specialises in the Bearings and Power Transmission sectors. IPH was created in 1987 in Lyon and has developed as a generalist distributor. Hopefully the combination of these two companies will lead to more success going forward.
