The Queenâs Award for Enterprise, which is the UKâs most prestigious business honouring, has been received by dozens of manufacturers this year. The winners were recognised for their contribution to four main categories: international trade, innovation, sustainable development and promoting opportunity.
The record number was granted for international trade, where 152 companies from industries such as agricultural technology, innovative software and healthcare, managed to receive awards. Some of the âQueenâs Award for Enterprise in International Tradeâ winners include: Photocentric, Cobra Biologics, Addmaster, Frog Bikes and Wild & Wolf.
Photocentric received the award in recognition to its three year growth in overseas sales. Over the last five years, the company has experienced a sale growth from £2.5 million to £5.7 million, while exports rose from £1.7 million to over £4 million.
The award was offered to Cobra Biologics for its commercial success in providing services to its global customer base. Cobra has been supporting the life science industry for over 20 years and it currently exports over 85% of its services from its facilities based in the UK and Sweden. In April 2017, Cobra announced a £15m gene therapy expansion plan, to meet the increased demand from both plasmid DNA and viral vectors for Phase III and Commercial supply to support both existing and new customer requirements in the development of revolutionary disease therapies.
Addmaster has reached a record high for the financial year with both domestic and export markets expanding rapidly, while Frog Bikes has managed to supply independent bike shops in over 40 countries worldwide.
Wild & Wolf has demonstrated substantial international growth in overseas earning and commercial success within its sector. It created design-led gifts and lifestyle products across a wide portfolio of popular licensed and own IP brands. From homewares to stationery, and toys and games, their innovative product collections combine form and function with exceptional design.
