The Northern Powerhouse International Conference and Exhibition takes place in the UK next month, and one of the hot topics on the agenda will be how manufacturing can be the key to driving the Northern Powerhouse forward, with 3,000 business delegates expected to attend the event in Manchester.
The event will be spread out over the course of two days, with major national UK companies and delegations from all over the world set to be included in the 3,000, including China, Australia, India and the USA. The big name companies attending in February include British Steel, Nissan, Diosynth Polymers and Fujifilm, all of whom will be providing their input on the manufacturing topic.
There will be a session entitled âManufacturing the Northern Powerhouseâ which will take place at Manchester Central during the two-day event, and this will see the majority of the manufacturing debate taking place. The governmentâs post-Brexit strategy places a huge amount of focus on heavy investment into manufacturing, with the North playing host to a significant portion of this investment.
For example, a brand new manufacturing park is expected to be created as part of the manufacturing investment, and it is to be situated close by to the Nissan plant in Sunderland, creating thousands of jobs in the process.
The Northern Powerhouse International Conference and Exhibition will also include speeches from organisation officials such as Andrew Percy MP, the minister for the Northern Powerhouse, and Lord Kerslake, who is the Chair of the UK Northern Powerhouse Advisory Board.
The event promises to make history as being the biggest ever cross sectoral gathering of Northern business to have ever taken place in the UK, with topics including transport & infrastructure, finance & delivery and productivity & energy set to be discussed on 21st and 22nd February along with manufacturing and many more.
