LDV, has been named as the LCV Manufacturer of the Year, less thaN two years since their relaunch. This prestigious title has been given to the company at the 2017 GreenFleet Awards. The Awards scheme is in its 13th year and works to celebrate the work that is carried out by stakeholders in the fleet sectors in order to reduce the environmental impacts of automotive vehicles.
LDV has come out on top, as the overall winner in a competitive category. The manufacturer has been recognised for their efforts to reduce CO2 and increase the fuel economy of the Light Commercial Vehicles that they manufacture. LDV managed to beat a number of high profile companies in this category, including Citroen, Fiat Professional, Nissan, Fo0rd, Peugeot and Iveco.
LDVâs celebrated electric vehicle range was first launched with the EV80 and has been designed to have zero emissions technology along with advanced electric power systems in order to deliver greener power and in return cut down on the environmental impact that their vehicles have. These vehicles are manufactured by SAIC, the largest automotive company in China.
The GreenFleet Awards identify and celebrate innovators of the low carbon vehicle manufacturing sector and LDV is at the forefront of this change, with the support of a significant level of investment of SAIC. It is great to see LDV recognised for their hard work, and for the company to have such a high level of success so soon after their relaunch is another accolade for LDV.
In addition to the manufacture of the Green LCVs, LDV is promoting greener driving by encouraging business owners to switch to one of their EV with an amazing six-year finance offer that will allow more fleet drivers to update and trade in their older and less environmentally friendly vehicles. The LDV EV80 is also OLEVâs Plug-in Van Grant approved, with the scheme also offering a grant towards the cost of a new EV80 from LDV.
