The UK Magnetics Society has announced Magnet Applications as the headline sponsor and presenter of LARM2025 (Linear and Rotating Machines). The 2-day conference, held between June 24th and 25th at Newcastle University in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne in the United Kingdom, focuses on applications in automotive, aerospace, power generation, and logistics, looking at materials, additive manufacturing, motor topologies, and gearing.
Magnet Applications is one of the world’s leading designers and manufacturers of magnets, magnet assemblies and magnetising equipment with globally located manufacturing facilities.
The UK Magnetics Society supports magnetics professionals with an international membership drawn from industry, government and academia. The society’s principal aim is to advance the scientific, technical and practical development and application of magnetics technology and materials
Electric machines are at the very forefront of magnetic related engineering and development. LARM2025 provides a platform for industry specialists to share technical news on the latest developments with the magnetics community. The magnetic aspects of linear and rotating electric machines include soft magnetics, hard magnetics, and permanent-magnet-free electric machine topologies, for rotating and linear motors and generators.
LARM2025 builds on the success of the 2024 event, with a broader range of presentations and increased number of delegates. The keynote speakers are Chris Gerada from the University of Nottingham (Radial Force Control in Electrical Drives: Advances in Bearingless Technologies) and Alan James from Expert Alliance (High Level View of Maglev in EU/UK).
The conference is supported by a select exhibition, which includes the Magnet Applications team.
“Advances in magnetic materials and designs provide opportunities for significant enhancements in linear and rotating machines,” explained Matthew Swallow, Magnet Application’s Technical Product Manager. “At Magnet Applications, we are working closely with the industry on maximizing performance through magnet design. LARM2025 provides the ideal platform for industry specialists to meet and share developments and discuss future trends.”
