Engineering and Technology Opening this Year's Search for the Most Innovative Engineering

The Institute of Engineering and Technology has opened this year’s search for the most innovative engineering, science, and technology products on offer around the world. As part of the prestigious IET Innovation Awards 2017, applicants are encouraged to send in products that could change the market for any of the three sectors: engineering, science or technology.

The awards intend on celebrating the most forward thinking innovations across any of their 15 industry categories. These categories include energy and sustainability, transport and healthcare. The categories open up the competition to a wide variety of different innovations. The awards a free to enter and is open to any individual, company or organisation from anywhere around the world. These awards provide a unique opportunity to show off their product and get a boost to their exposure. Any person or organisation will have a platform for their inventors to get a global scale of exposure for their products. This amount of product exposure can lead to investment and expansion even if the product doesn’t win, making it a really big opportunity for those who are looking to enter their invention.

All of the shortlisted and winning entries will be named a member of the IET, which around the world exceeds 168,000. Last year the double award winner Paul Cain, strategy Director at FlexEnable, took home the prize. Cain has suggested that the platform of these awards has allowed his company to grow.

Innovation is a key aspect required to grow the global economy, and can help with raising the standard of living around the world. Celebrating inventors is no bad thing when it comes to developing the products and technologies of tomorrow.

Each of the 15 categories are independently judged by a panel consisting of experts in that field. The shortlist for the categories will be released in late September. The winners for each category will be announced at a Black Tie even on Wednesday 15th November at the Brewery in London.
