EEF Announce Date for 2018 National Manufacturing Conference

The manufacturing organisation, EEF, has announced that the 2018 National Manufacturing Conference will be sponsored by Lombard, the asset finance provider and will take place next year on the 20th February 2018.

The conference is expected to take place in London and will bring together a wide range of the UK’s leading government politicians, senior industrialists and manufacturing leaders. The event will also be focusing on the topic ‘Global Britain: Change, Opportunity, Growth’. This discussion will then evaluate the post-Brexit landscape and what companies can be doing in order to make sure that they come out on top.

Some of the speakers for next year’s Manufacturing Conference have already been announced. These speakers include Martin Wolf CBE, the Chief Economic Commentator for the Financial Times. Other speakers already announced include the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, Greg Clarke and Steph McGovern, a trained and former engineer and broadcaster, who will be back to chair the event by popular demand.

With Brexit looming ever closer, the conference will take place at a critical time for the manufacturing industry. The conference could have a vital role to play in making sure that the Post-Brexit Britain continues to thrive. The Conference offers a valuable collaborative opportunity for businesses and key individuals as well as the Government to work together to explore and discover the best solution for the industry when Britain leaves the European Union.

The manufacturing and engineering sector is incredibly important to the UK economy. Therefore, the creation of an opportunity to get the most influential manufacturing and engineering companies together will be beneficial to helping the industry and then, hopefully, the British economy, an opportunity to innovate and grow. The EEF are welcoming manufacturers, industry leaders and leading politicians to attend next year’s event to work together and tackle the upcoming challenges.
