On 5th June the directors of Compass Business Finance, will be representing their company in taking on the Longest Day Golf Challenge to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Every penny raised will help Macmillan support the growing number of people living with cancer in the UK.
Teeing off at dawn, directors, Mark Nelson, Jamie Nelson, David Bunker and sales manager, Danny Simpson will be setting out to complete 4 rounds of golf, including 72 holes and a marathon 24 miles of walking, before the day is out – their goal is to raise £2400* in sponsorship for Macmillan.
Team Captain, Mark Nelson said, “As a business we’ve decided to take on this challenge in memory, in support and in solidarity with all those affected by cancer. The work of Macmillan is vital to so many people. Participating in this challenge and asking all those we know to support us, is a small way in which we can help make a difference.”
Over 2.5 million people are currently living with cancer in the UK and that number is increasing, so too are survival rates. Macmillan Cancer Support works to make sure people get the support they need to live life as fully as possible.
*For £2400 the Macmillan Mobile Cancer Information and Support Services could be run for a day, reaching and supporting an average of 100 people.
