Astec Returns to the Factories of the Future Expo

Factories of the Future Expo 2018 will see the return of Astec Solutions at this year’s edition, which will take place at Manchester’s Central Convention Complex between the 28th of February and the 1st of March. The Industry 4.0 Summit conference will co-locate with the expo.

The expo is a free to attend event and it will showcase the latest advances in automation, robotics, and software, attracting manufacturers from all over the country and beyond. Engineers, production managers, and technology buyers will be able to speak to the digital manufacturing expert Astec about how they can take their operations to the next level by using analytics to drive operational improvements and create a fully integrated manufacturing process.

Despite all the media hype, many companies still lack a coherent plan for the implementation of Industry 4.0 technology. In my opinion, part of this issue stems from businesses being expected to run before they can walk. It all sounds attractive in principle, but when it comes to investing, companies are uncertain, explained Craig Hill, Sales Manager.

This is completely understandable because IoT solutions depend on well-structured foundations of true data connectivity, visibility and transparency. Only when these are properly in place, and legacy systems are updated, can improvements from analytics and optimisation be realised. We help manufacturers address their current challenges and give them supportable systems for the future. That’s when the real magic sparks and immediate benefits are seen, he added.

Astec is a provider of smart manufacturing solutions and support services, including system architecture and cybersecurity. The knowledge it has in these sectors helps its customers improve their existing infrastructure by being able to support software technologies such as augmented reality and machine learning.

Those wishing to attend the event and speak with the Astec team can find them on Stand P60. Registration is free and an appointment on the stand can be booked at events@astecsolutions.com.
