A Stourbridge based recruitment consultancy firm is the latest member of a support group designed to help manufacturers grow.
It has joined forces with the Manufacturing Hub to provide permanent, contract and interim staffing solutions, along with HR consultancy and talent management services.
The firm employs 100 specialists at five offices in Dubai, London and the West Midlands; offering industry access to semi-skilled operatives, technical and engineering specialists and others in positions up to senior management.
It will work along with Cucumber PR, Start 2 Finish Marketing, PP Business Improvement and former Manufacturing Advisory Service experts Rachel Eade and Alison Phillips in the hub.
Mark Bignell, managing consultant at the firm, said: We firmly believe in the power of collaboration and sharing best practice, which were the principal drivers behind us getting involved.
The Manufacturing Hub has helped over 1,000 companies over the last five years, safeguarding and creating over 25,000 jobs in the process.
Steve Jolliffe, director of S2F and chairman of the Manufacturing Hub, said: We have been talking to a lot of engineering companies over the last few months, and one of the topics that kept cropping up was recruitment.
We decided to address this by sourcing a recruitment consultancy that understands the sector and has a proven track record of delivering the goods. That firm had to be Jonathan Lee.
Meanwhile, Spanish automotive supplier Gestamp is to open a £70 million manufacturing facility in Four Ashes, near Wolverhampton.
This will house stamping equipment and will safeguard the 800 jobs at Gestampâs current plant in nearby Cannock by progressively moving production to the new facility.
A Gestamp spokesman said the goal is to create a more efficient and competitive operation that offers the best service to our customers. These include BMW, Honda, Jaguar Land Rover, Nissan-Renault and Toyota. Plans are for production to start before the end of 2017.
